SEO Company in Dubai: What a Real SEO Retainer Includes (AED 2026)

You have asked two or three SEO companies in Dubai for a quote. One says AED 2,500 a month, one says AED 8,000, one says AED 18,000. Each proposal promises “on-page, off-page and technical SEO”, so on paper they look the same.

They are not the same. This guide breaks down what a real SEO retainer in Dubai should include, what each price level actually buys, what the first six months look like, and the questions that separate a working SEO company from one that sends nice reports. Prices are in AED with US dollars in brackets.

Checklist of six things a real SEO retainer in Dubai includes
The six areas every SEO retainer in Dubai should cover each month.

What an SEO Retainer in Dubai Costs in 2026

Most small and mid-size Dubai businesses pay an SEO company **AED 1,500 to 12,000 (about $410 to $3,270) a month**. Competitive sectors such as real estate, legal, medical and finance often pay AED 15,000 or more, because the work needed to outrank established competitors is larger.

These are the ranges Dubai agencies publish for 2026, the same ones we used in our guide to digital marketing agency costs in Dubai. Treat them as a map. Every agency defines its packages differently.

Retainer levelTypical monthly fee (AED)Typical monthly fee (USD)Usually right for
Local SEO1,500 to 3,500$410 to $955One location, one or two core services
SME SEO3,500 to 7,000$955 to $1,905Several services, a blog, one or two areas
Growth SEO7,000 to 12,000$1,905 to $3,270Many service pages, content every week, link building
Competitive sector15,000 to 40,000+$4,085 to $10,900+Real estate, legal, medical, finance in Dubai

UAE VAT at 5% is normally added on top of the quoted fee when the agency is VAT-registered in the UAE. Check the Federal Tax Authority VAT page if you are unsure how it applies to your invoices.

The Six Things a Real SEO Retainer Includes

Every proposal uses the same words. What matters is whether the work behind the words happens every month. A real SEO retainer covers six areas.

1. Technical health

  • A crawl of the whole site every month, with broken links, redirect chains and missing pages fixed, not just listed
  • Mobile speed checks on the pages that bring enquiries
  • Indexing checks in Google Search Console, so new pages actually appear in Google
  • Clean sitemaps and robots rules, so Google is not blocked from parts of your site

2. Keyword and page mapping

One page should target one main search. A good SEO company maps your services to real searches, for example “dental implants Al Barsha” to your implants page, and stops two pages from competing for the same term.

3. On-page work

Titles, meta descriptions, headings, internal links and schema markup on the pages that matter. This is where many cheap retainers stop, and on its own it is rarely enough in Dubai.

4. Content

New pages and articles that answer what your buyers search before they call. At AED 3,500 and above, expect two to four pieces of useful content a month, written for your market, with Arabic where your buyers search in Arabic.

5. Local SEO

Google Business Profile optimisation, photos, posts, review replies and consistent business details across directories. Google explains how local results are ranked on its local ranking help page: relevance, distance and prominence.

6. Authority (links and mentions)

Real mentions from UAE directories, industry sites, partners and press. Not packages of hundreds of links from unrelated sites. Our guide to backlinks for a local business website explains which links help and which ones put you at risk.

What Each Price Level Should Buy You

Use this as a checklist when you compare proposals side by side.

AED 1,500 to 3,500 a month

  • Google Business Profile set up and managed, with weekly posts and review replies
  • On-page fixes on your homepage and your top three service pages
  • One local landing page or article a month
  • A monthly report with calls, direction requests and form enquiries

AED 3,500 to 7,000 a month

  • Everything above, plus a monthly technical crawl with fixes done
  • Two to four content pieces a month mapped to buyer searches
  • Five to ten genuine local citations or mentions a month
  • Conversion tracking in GA4 so you can see which pages bring enquiries

AED 7,000 to 12,000 a month

  • A named strategist and a writer, not one account manager doing everything
  • Weekly content, new service and area pages, and internal linking across the site
  • Active outreach for links from relevant UAE sites
  • A monthly call where the plan changes based on what the data shows

A Realistic First Six Months

SEO in Dubai is slow at the start. Anyone who promises page one in 30 days is either working on keywords nobody searches or taking risks with your domain.

MonthWhat should happenWhat you should see
1Audit, keyword map, tracking set up, technical fixesA written plan and a baseline report
2Service pages rewritten, Google Business Profile fixedPages indexed, impressions starting to move
3First content pieces live, first citationsMore search impressions, first new keywords
4More content, internal links, first outreachSome keywords moving into the top 20
5 to 6Content and links continue, weak pages improvedFirst enquiries you can trace to organic search

If month three looks exactly like month one in Search Console, ask why. Impressions should rise before clicks and enquiries do.

What a Monthly SEO Report Should Show

A good report fits on one page and answers one question: are we getting more enquiries from Google than before?

  • Calls, WhatsApp clicks and form enquiries from organic search
  • Search Console clicks and impressions, compared with the previous month
  • Position changes for your 10 to 20 money keywords, not 500 random ones
  • What was done this month, page by page
  • What will be done next month and why

We wrote a fuller checklist in what a monthly SEO report should show you.

Red Flags in SEO Proposals in Dubai

  • **Guaranteed rankings.** Nobody controls Google. Guarantees usually mean easy keywords or risky links.
  • **”500 backlinks a month”.** Bulk links from unrelated sites can break Google’s spam policies and hurt your site.
  • **No access to your Search Console or Analytics.** Both must be in your name, with the agency added as a user.
  • **The same proposal for a clinic and a property broker.** If nothing in the plan is specific to your business, nobody looked at your business.
  • **Long lock-ins with no targets.** A 12-month contract should include agreed checkpoints, for example at month three and month six.
  • **Reports with only rankings.** Rankings for terms nobody searches do not pay rent.

Questions to Ask Before You Sign

Google’s own guide on hiring an SEO suggests interviewing any SEO you are considering. These are the questions we would ask in Dubai:

  1. Which pages on my site will you work on in month one, and why those?
  2. Who exactly will write my content, and will Arabic be written by a native writer?
  3. Where will links come from? Can you show three examples from a current client?
  4. How will you track calls and WhatsApp clicks, not just form fills?
  5. What will you do if a keyword has not moved after four months?
  6. If I leave, what do I keep? (The answer should be: everything.)

Dubai SEO Company, Freelancer or Offshore Team

Many Dubai businesses mix these. A local person owns the brand and reviews, and a technical team handles site fixes, content and tracking.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does an SEO company in Dubai charge per month?

Most small and mid-size businesses pay AED 1,500 to 12,000 (about $410 to $3,270) a month in 2026. Local SEO packages usually start at AED 1,500 to 3,500, while competitive sectors like real estate and legal often pay AED 15,000 or more.

How long does SEO take to work in Dubai?

Expect technical fixes and indexing in the first two months, keyword movement in months three and four, and traceable enquiries from about month five or six. Competitive sectors take longer.

Should my SEO retainer include content?

Yes, from about AED 3,500 a month upwards. Two to four useful pieces a month, mapped to what your buyers search, is what moves rankings for service businesses.

Do I need Arabic SEO in Dubai?

It depends on your buyers. If your customers search in Arabic, you need native Arabic pages and content, not machine translation. Many B2B and expat-focused businesses do well in English first.

Can an SEO company outside the UAE rank my Dubai website?

Yes, if the team understands UAE search behaviour, builds local signals such as Google Business Profile and UAE citations, and keeps your Search Console and Analytics in your name.

Final Thoughts

A good SEO company in Dubai is easy to spot once you know what to look for: a plan specific to your business, work you can see page by page every month, and a report that counts enquiries, not just rankings.
